Default How to unlock

How to unlock depends on the device

The most common ones (and therefor best documented) are Mio devices.
I suggest you take a look at the [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

Also an interesting website on Mio is this one:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

Navman and Mio Moov owners can find useful info at:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register] or at [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

A method suited for Moov is [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
Mio Moov owners also could take a look at post #9, hereafter.

Some devices can be unlocked, but we on GPSU do not knowing how to do it. Let's face it, we do not know everything.
But have you tried to just type into Google the brand of your device and then "unlock"?
example: Navman unlock
Succes!

Maybe you can post in the general discussion forum what you have found and thus help others? Your post will be moved by a moderator.

PLEASE:
DO NOT contact me if you have questions or have run into trouble unlocking. I am not into unlocking. I have never done it, I have no experience unlocking. So I am no help at all. I only organized this section.
If you have questions/problems, post in the general discussion forum, where someone more experienced will pick up your post and answer it.

HACKS:

At the root of SD card you will find addons.txt

Open the file with a text editor and add the following lines:

[modules]
iGo8.3.2 = "icons/V7.bmp", "\\Storage Card\\iGO8\\iGO8.exe"
Explorer = "icons/picture_viewer.bmp", "\\Windows\\explorer.exe"
Task Manager = "icons/files.bmp", "\\Storage Card\\Unlock\\Windows\\Taskbar.exe"

[Autostart]
Navigation = "\\Storage Card\\iGO8\\iGO8.exe"
Task = "\\Storage Card\\Programs\\Utils\ITaskMgr.exe

Download these files unzip them and place them in the root folder on the storage card.
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
Filename: v7nav730v2.zip

MAPS:

Most of the downloading will be done from here:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

#1 Download iGo8 Base build and extract it into (\SD Card\iGo8) directory

Please make sure that you have the following files in the iGo8 directory!

content (dir)
branding.zip
data.zip
gpstmc.dll
igo8.exe
mod_cl_client.dll
sys.txt
tahoma.ttf
tahomabd.ttf

#2 Download iGO8 Mar 2009 - Version 8.3.2.80621 (or later version) and overwrite the igo8.exe in the (SD Card\iGo8) directory.

#3 Download (Version 10 data file) and rename to data.zip, then copy and overwrite the same file in (SD Card\iGo8) directory.

#4 Download POI branding files and rename to branding.zip, then copy and overwrite the same file in (SD Card\iGo8) directory.

#5 Download Language and extract to (SD Card\iGo8\content\lang) directory.
NOTE: You only need extract the languages you're going to use.

#6 Download Voice and extract to (SD Card\iGo8\content\voice) directory.
NOTE: You only need extract the languages you're going to use.

#7 DO NOT Download TTS files.... they are corrupt there! = useless

#8 Download ALL of the Demographics for the country you're going to need.
Place them into 1 directory and then start extracting us_dem.zip to (SD Card\Igo8\content\dem)

#9 Go:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

Download whatever MAPS (to \SD Card\iGo8\content\map) and POIs (to \SD Card\iGo8\content\poi) you need.
3D Building files (to \SD Card\iGo8\content\building)
MAPS and 3D Buildings >
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

#10 TTS (this works!)
Go to:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
and read 2nd Adit's Post.
(Extract all files (I tried the 1st set - Susan HQ) to (SD Card\iGo8)

#11 Licenses will go to (SD Card\iGo8\license). Please make sure that you extract them there, dont just place the ZIP file in the directory.
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
(I am not sure if you can get away with 1 license, but I extracted ALL of these into the folder.)

HACKING:

Power cycle your NAV740 by the switch on the bottom (not the button on the right), this will hard reset your GPS.

When the GPS boots up, click on the explorer icon.
It will open an explorer window with folders in it.
Click on the Storage Card icon to open the SD root.
Now you see the C310auto files. One is .exe and the other one is the script.
Click on the .exe one to apply to hack.
The GPS will then warm boot automatically.

Now you can start/use the iGo.

Third, you will find more updated versions of iGO8 on this forum and disneyland than the site you linked. To update to a later version, you just need to replace the iGo8.exe file. Sometimes you may need to rename it from iGoPNA to iGo8. There are all in one download that has the license included already. All you need is to add the content.
Last, these lines are important in the sys.txt file, particularly the first one:

[folders]
app="Storage Card/iGO8"

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1h
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="480_272"
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
screen_x=480
screen_y=272

Default Xnav3550

Quote:
OK, here is the How-To for the XNAV3550. It should also work for everybody running WindowsCE and getting the error "not a Windows CE program" when trying to run iGO08.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Install the GAPI package available here:

[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

[Put the CAB on your SD card. Load the SD card, use explorer to navigate to the CAB file. Double-click it and it will be installed automatically.]

2) Copy the dummy AYGSHELL.DLL into your windows directory. File available at:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

3) Remove gx.dll from iGO08 directory on SD card

4) Copy tahomabd.ttf font file to the [windows] folder. Available here:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

5) Download ExecutabilityCheck, unzip it and copy executabilityCheck.exe (from exec.zip ARM Folder) to the root of SD Card. Run it and check the faulty app (iGO08). Look for needed files or coredll.dll errors. [It should give you some coredll.dll errors. We'll fix them at step 6]. If you see any file missing, you will need that file in your system.

available at:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

6) Download this file:

--> [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register] (Modified coredll.dll)

Unzip it. The unzipped coredll file has 12 folders. In each folder there is different version of the coredll file.
Select folder No 3. There should be a coredll42.dll file in it. Copy this file to the iGO08 folder on your SD card and rename it to coredl2.dll.

Start executabilityCheck.exe on your SD card. In executability check, navigate to the iGO08 folder on your SD card and open the iGO exe app.

After a few seconds will receive the message "coredll.dll doesn't export has function ordinary XXXX" or something very similar.

Now at the bottom of the executabilitychack window, on the right, there are two buttons. Click "Rewrite Lib name". Click coredll.dll (until cursor flashes, in order to Rename it, DON'T RUN IT) rename it to coredl2.dll. Click on "Overwrite" to validate (Use your Win CE Keyboard for renaming).

Finally, delete any gx.dll file that may be in your Windows directory.

Double click igo08.exe and it should run fine. Igo08 has a function to scan all COM ports to find the right settings for your GPS receiver. Use it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it!!!!
Enjoy it.

Default unlocking Mio C210 and Medion GoPal

Well, it's very simple to unlock it. Here's a quote of the instructions:

I got hold of the original GOCE.EXE file
([Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register])

Placing this file on your SD Card is enough to get the desktop running.

The file can be downloaded here ([Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register])

I have tested it wit Medion goPal and it works also for that device.
Perhaps all WINCE 4.2 PNA´s can be unlocked with this. You can also try to rename GOCE.EXE to AUTORUN.EXE if your original SD card has such a file on it.

Cheers.

Default How to unlock a Mio Moov 200

Hello all first time poster here.

So i searched around a bit here and the net, looking at different programs, info and such on unlocking the Mio Moov's. I have the 200 its the basic of the basic, yet it was free for Xmass thanks Santa haha. I am posting because it seems not many people have this Moov 200, so im posting how i updated myn WITHOUT a SD Card.

*BACK UP* Before you do ANYTHING plug your GPS into your PC open it like a hard drive Copy Everything and save it somewhere (like documents with somthing you will remember like Mio backup).

First: to do anything with your GPS you have to unlock it, i used this NavMan Windows CE unlock becasue it is good, solid, stable, yet flexible and isant a resorce hog. this unlock comes BARE BONES, keeping ur current Mio GPS info, just adds windows to ur gps basicly. Follow step 1-4
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

Now once the Mio is unlocked i wanted to update my maps, but to update the maps you need a new GPS Softwear to run those uptodate maps.
This is where iGO comes in, NavNGo iGO is the softwear that is common, looks good, works well, and has uptodate POI,Maps ect.
Second: Download the iGO Base Folder from March 2nd 2009 and unrar it to your desktop (DO NOT UNRAR anything else)
Download Link:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
Mirror:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
Mirror:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

Third: Open the iGO Folder on your desktop Delete iGO.exe and License Folder

Fourth: Download the Most recent PNA iGO Softwear (Currently Aug 13 09), Unrar to desktop.
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
pass: squirrel
mirror = [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
no pass
miror ; [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
no pass

Fifth: Open Current iGO Softwear and Copy iGO.exe and License Folder into the Main March 2nd iGO Folder (where you deleted them from)
*you can delete the Aug 13 folder and rar now*

Sixth: Go to your iGO8 March 2nd Folder, inside that is the iGO Folder, inside is a sys.txt file open it. we want the main folder line to look like this
[folders]
;app="%My Flash Disk%/iGO8"

Make sure it looks just like that dont miss anything double check it, then save it.

Seventh: Maps+POI's, yes finally to the uptodate maps and POI's. now this will varry, everyone lives somewhere differnt but what you have to remember is we are limited on space as the internal flash disk is only so big. you can find maps and POI's for iGO 8 here
[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]
Canada>> [Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]

Take the map files you download (.Fbl) and put them in iGO>Content>Map
Take the POI's files you download and put them in iGO>Content>POI

Now Compare the size (right clicking on the folder or drive) of your iGO folder to your Mio Drive, if it looks like it will fit just throw that igo folder onto the drive.
If it doesnt (considering you made a backup) you can go and delete some things you wont be needing, such as Navman Maps+POI (these are your old mio maps and poi but you will be using the NavNGo new ones so they are usless). You can also go threw and delte unwanted About files, tutorials, skins and such. do it bit by bit remember you have a backup so you can just re add what you took out if you GPS ends up giving you errors and such.
This is the part you will have to do alot of thinking and judging, but dont get carless as if you remove things that fully needed you may end up with a paperweight.

OK
so you have your iGO Folder in you Mio Drive, remove the GPS from your PC (the right way) when you are at the windows CE screen (grab somthing to use as a pointer rather then your finger) go to Start, FileManCE, open up your igo Folder (make sure you can see the iGO.exe). STOP Plug you GPS back into your PC open up the Mio drive and look in the IGO Folder, Do you see a save folder? if so Delete it. Now you can go back to your GPS and double click iGO.exe

Now you should be loading iGO (and hopefully you didnt run into an Error, if you did dont worry the first time i did this i got 3 differnt errors just take your time read what is tells you and do some googleing)

Now go Advanced (not simple) go into your settings and find your GPS settings. Grab your Gps run outside to your front lawn and click Auto Detect. give it some time and you should be now up and running.

Do you want a shotcut on your GPS Desktop to load iGO? well go to filemanCE click your iGO.exe ONCE then click FILE create shortcut, plug your GPS back into your PC go into your iGO folder cut that shortcut and pase it into ProgramFiles>Unlock>Desktop.

Want to play movies on your GPS? use Coreplayer TCPMP, just throw it on your SD card along with your movies (or you can keep coreplayer in your gps like i do)
After much searching on a link that is actually compleate and works here are two.
