Lightbulb Kikker Skin v3.2 - HP Bluetooth, Speedcam Voices

Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see images.

This skin is intended for devices with one of the following resolutions in landscape orientation only:

320x240, 400x240, 480x272, 640x480 (VGA), 800x480 (WVGA)

HP IPAQ 31x owners can enable the 'Bluetooth for IPAQ 31x' in the menu options. This option will enable bluetooth buttons both in the main Map and Cockpit views. Such new options include buttons for the dialpad, bluetooth manager, and OFF switch. Not only that, and thanks to bitblaster, you can make POI calls to your bluetooth phone directly from IGO. 31x owners must now download the 'normal' skin and enable the advanced bluetooth options in settings - menu. This needs to be enabled only once. You now have an invisible button on the map (lower right corner) which will turn bluetooth ON and show the Bluetooth Manager. In the cockpit view, there is a new button to show the Bluetooth Dial Pad. A big thanks goes to bitblaster for coding the bluetooth applications.

Highlights:

1. Speedcam Voices
2. HP IPAQ 31x Bluetooth functions - Bluetooth Manager, Dial pad, POI calling directly from within iGO.
3. POI Pop-up
4. Transparency settings
5. Each cockpit field has 21 options and configurable in both cruise and nav modes.
6. Circular Compass on map can be turned off.
7. Circular compass moves over to the right when overspeed/speedcam icon appears. Compass can still be turned off however.
8. Cockpit fields can have either a light or dark background. Dark background always shown in night mode.
9. Dark background of Cockpit fields allows for either "VFD Blue", "Orange LED", or "White Glow" colors of the field labels.
10. Overspeed warnings now appear either whenever speeding or whenever available. Select the option in Settings--->Warnings.
11. Current Speed in Red when speeding, provided 'Current Speed' is selected as one of the cockpit fields. Feature can be turned off however.
12. The map scale can now be turned off while the 2D navigation map is visible.

Changes in this release:

1. Fixed Speed Limit "Show When Available" setting.
2. Added "Show Secondary Event" Settings.

As with all skins, you will need at least the following in your sys.txt, which is found in the root of the IGO8 directory, in order to make the resolution on your device work:
Code: [[Only Registered Users Can See Links . Click Here To Register]]
320x240:                               400x240:                               480x272:

[interface]                              [interface]                              [interface]
vga=0                                    vga=0                                     vga=0
resolution_dir="320_240"     resolution_dir="400_240"      resolution_dir="480_272"

[rawdisplay]                           [rawdisplay]                           [rawdisplay]
highres=0                              highres=0                               highres=0

**************************************************************************************

640x480:                                800x480:

[interface]                               [interface]
vga=1                                     vga=0
resolution_dir="320_240"      resolution_dir="800_480"

[rawdisplay]                           [rawdisplay]
highres=1                               highres=0
Download Instructions: Place the *.zip in "IGO8\content\skin" directory. In order to use the advanced bluetooth functions directly in IGO8, you will need the bluetooth files in the second download below. If you have already used a previous bluetooth version of this skin, you DO NOT need these files, as you already have them.

If you like this skin, and you feel so inclined, your donation would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Hi

Can you tell me which day scheme do you use and where can I find it ?
Other question is : sometimes I can see the second maneuver indicator but not all the times. All times I can see the next maneuver but I can not see the second one.
Is it possible the turn this option on so I can see it all the times?

thank you

The second turn indicator will display when BOTH conditions are met:

1. The primary turn indicator (next turn) shows a distance of less than 5 km.
2. The secondary turn distance is less than 1 km.

That way, the secondary turn indicator is shown when really needed. I may implement user-defined distances in an upcoming release. If anyone thinks these values are really too low, let me know.

The day-view scheme can found below:

Hi Kikker,

Can you put a screen lock in your skin (similar in functionality to the padlock icon in the iPaq31x)?
It locks the screen against touch input when you are using it in Pedestrian mode routing, for example.

I can PM you the code HP used in Oasis as a starting point.

Hey, thanks for your skin, it's great! I made a small donation, so check your paypal Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see images.

I asked a few questions in the paypal message, perhaps you could answer them here?

1) Can you make an option to turn off the scale?
2) Can you make it so if you click on a POI it will pop up the name of the PIO, or make a way to show the POI names on the map?

3) Is it possible to show park names on the map? My Magellan GPS did this...

Another comment: at 800x480 I found the default font for roads very small, I had to make a change to the sys.txt file to make it larger. Maybe a way to easily change the font size for the roads on the map?

Again thanks alot for your work!
Darren

Thank you for your donation! I will try to implement a switch to turn off the scale on the map if I can find it, but it shouldn't be too hard.

As for the POI's on the map, there is an option to turn on POI pop-up in the map settings. I think I will change this to be turned on by default in the next version.

As for road text names, I'm not so sure there would be a way to change this within the skin, but I will look into this as well. Thanks again.

Thanks, much appreciated!

BTW, I was trying to add custom POI images and I kept getting error messages about the .scp files not being found. But I was able to fix it by putting the scripts inside your skin .zip file.

I am using 800x480 resolution, so I put the files in the ui_igo8/800_480 folder and it works now Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see images.

Just a FYI for other users wanting to add custom POI images.

Oh yeah, Regarding the POI pop-up, do you mean by this that if you put the cursor on top of a POI icon on the map and then press the "Cursor" icon, and then "Info".... is that what you mean by a "pop-up" menu?

I tried the dimka skin and it actually did have a context sensitive "pop-up" menu appear when i clicked and HELD down on a POI...but if that is what yours has too, I am not able to get it to work, even with "Pop-up Info Panel" turned on. Maybe you could show me a screenshot of what it is supposed to look like? (if I am wrong).

thanks
