Kind of interesting that for the European version, it was bundled/co-branded with Navteq. Most people say TeleAtlas is favored in Europe. . .

Are Navteq not kind of smaller, so iPOD memory saving? Just an idea.

I think they are about the same size. I see various posts claiming one is better than the other concerning accuracy, POIs, etc. With Apple being in Sunnyvale, CA (USA), maybe they went with the American company (Navteq) vs the Dutch one (TeleAtlas).

I prefer NavTeq in Sweden.

As far as I know is NavTeq owned by NOKIA which is a Finnish company.

I'm just testing out the EU version and am waiting for th North American version as I'm in Canada.

I am originally from the UK and so have been testing a simulation route on it. Seems pretty good and has road signs for the M6 in my area (Sandbach).

There's no TTS unfortunately and I was wondering if it would be possible to add in the English TTS to the iPhone. So I grabbed the TTS files found on these fourms and SSH'd them over to my phone. They appear selectable in the "Regional" settings page, but when you select them it doesn't say "Have a nice trip..." like the default working voice.

Guess it needs some more work!

Just to be clear... this will not work on a PNA, or any windows based PDA. It will only work on an iPhone. I noticed some confusion over this in another forum and just wanted it to be clear before we get a lot of questions about why isn't this working on my device kinda thing.

Now, on a side note... it is pretty cool an iGo product for iPhones. I don't own an iPhone, however I think that seeing more and more software marketed towards phones and less marketed toward PNA's is the wave of the future. It makes sense given that more people own cell phones than PNA's and PDA's combined. Take that inconsideration of having everything all in obe unit. I personally wouldn't even buy a phone unless it had some kind of GPS chips in it.
