I need unlocked maps of Israel for GARMIN nuvi 255 GPS!
Anyone please help!?

Steps to install Israel Routable Map Version 1.53 in your Garmin Nuvi GPS
Map ID: 2009
FID: 2009 PID: 1
To unlock:
1) Decompress WinRar file "routable_Israel map version 1_53.rar"
2) Copy the decompressed folder "Israel" in your "C:" hard disk drive inside the "Garmin" folder : "C:\Garmin" (Your Hard disk drive letter where the "Garmin" folder is may be other)
3) Double click on file "Israel routable.reg" that is inside the folder where the decompressed ".rar" file is and accept the registry update.
4) Run the software program "garmin_kgen_1.5.exe"
5) Input your Garmin Unit ID. Look for it in your Nuvi GPS
6) Choose in "Select Map Product: <custom mapset>"
7) Tick the box "Enable additional fields (experts only)"
8) FID: 2009 PID: 1
9) Click "OK"
10) Click in "Generate" to get the requested unlock code by the Mpasource software program
11) Open it with Mapsource and then upload to your Garmin Nuvi GPS.

Thanks! This seems to work on my nuvi 360. I do have a question though - is there a "coverage map" for this version? I'm trying to find my company's office (in Ra'anana) and it doesn't find the street name. (it's not a new street - we've been at this street location for at least 10 years) - if someone else wants to try it, it's Hapnina St in Ra'anana.

that is the best israel map available--its only 7mb i would be suprised if it covered 1/4 of the country--some country maps cover only one city--
that map probaly covers two whole citys--and all the roads

Please help. I downloaded the files and put them in the \garmin directory on an SD card. Put the card into my nuvi 250. But how do I get the nuvi to use these maps? Thanks.

in the sd's garmin directory you can have only one gmapsupp.img--and it will except only that name--


any maps displaying the same area must be deselected----as one map will sit on top of the other and you won't be able to see it--

That is exactly what I have. Will it notice that map when I get to Israel, and the main map no longer applies?

Must I copy this gmapsupp to the main memory of the nuvi? It is now on the plug-in SD card only.
