No need to install
Unrar to wherever you want on your PocketPC
Run MioMap.exe and enjoy

Copy all the content to SD
Run miomapinstall.exe (do not try to install with autorun)
After first start and "HardwareIDError" replace the licence.db with the one from crack folder.
Run the application
Delete the 2577 folder
Enjoy

copy this to sys.txt:

HI,
just yesterday ( 13/02/2008 ) MIO made available on his site an official update ( free of charge ) for migrating 3.2 and 3.3 Versions on C220-C250 and many other models.
I updated using the official tool ( after restoring the "official versions for MIOMAP.EXE and african lic* ).
Now I noticed the program size is different for MIOMAP.exe.
This means an update is needed also on the corrected version for working with african lic* again ?

hi,

the latest ver is Jan 2008 and u can find it in the forum!
u d/l the upgrade tool from mio site and than connect to the internet for upgrade.
by doing so u "locked" your mio again.
do keep in mind that some "important" files are now inside your mio and i am not sure that u can "hack" it again.
the tool was not out for USA users as its problematic!

this is what happand as u use original upgrade!
now u will have to hack it all again!
look at the forum for answers.

next time think before u act!

Some other features have been added, and a .dll changed....
Just a matter of time.... The new models will be equipped basicly with new version, and the update will be impossible also for them....
Alignment is like the bad weather.... you can hope to stay away.... but sooner or later...
Just sad for my nice EU maps that are now locked again.....

after the update from MIO site, the version number is still 3.3 Sep 5 2007.
But...
Miomap.exe size = 2915 Kb against the previous 2862 Kb ( still 3.3 Sep 5 2007 )

Not so much as information... but from info screen nothing else.
Other ways to see if there are sub-version infos ?

I've got a Clarion N.I.C.E. 430, which runs the iGo/Mio software, but I can't seem to find a license.db file that will work with any of the maps. I'm currently stuck with 2005.02 maps (and a 2006.1 basemap), and every attempt I've made to update them comes up with "some maps are out of date". Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm running iGO My Way 2006 Plus on my Clarion NICE 430, which seems to be working fantastic :D Had to make a couple of changes to some files to get it to work right, but it was no big deal :cool: I was wondering if anyone knows how to check how many POIs you have. I've got a 4GB SD card and I'm putting on every map file I can find and I'm kinda curious as to how many POIs I have now. If anyone knows how, let me know. Thanks.

I've got a Clarion N.I.C.E. 430. I just recently put iGo My Way 2006 Plus on it, and realized that I don't have the bluetooth features anymore :( I'm not sure what software was running previously on the device, but it looked almost identical (but slightly older). Right below the button on the screen of a speaker (for muting) was another button with the bluetooth logo. Its not there anymore. And when I clicked on a POI, it gave me the option to dial the number (also not there in the new one). Anyone else missing that, or know how to add it back in :confused:

Honestly... I don't have any recommendation / idea....
It seems that US and EU version after Jan upgrade from Mio official site goes on different ways.... and here just US solutions are proposed.
For now my solution is to keep old SW version with unlocked maps.
The alternate, upgrade SW to last version and have locked maps.... honestly seems to me too much expensive......

But I'm not exactly an expert... if some moderator or a real geek can give more detail... I would be happy to have a solution as well...

I didn't understand yet if the so called "Jan-2008" version should be installed after upgrading from MIO official site, or just on top of the previous 2007 version, simply ignoring MIO official updates. Due to the fact also some dll changed in the official version.... my opinion is that it would be a risky 2008 version... for some points....

It can run either on the flash disk or on a storage card. Just create a folder in the root directory, eg, iGO8, and copy the files into it. The archive may already have the root folder in it so you don't have to create another.

I recently bought an h610 and already had a c320. I did manage to unlock my c320 using the directions from mymioheaven, and loaded 7/07 maps (which are 100% better than the 06 maps that came on the device). Is there a way to do the same thing to my h610? is there like a hacked version of mio.exe and the needed license files that will work? or is my h610 doomed to be outdated with 2005 maps? Also, will the same hack I used on my c320 work on a c230? My mom has a c230 and it would be nice to get her some newer maps will better POI. Thanks in advance for anyone that can point me in the right direction on those 2 questions.

Hmm... I looked through the posts and haven't really found the answer. All I am trying to do is use the 7/07 maps on my h610, but it seems like such a process with tons of downloads and lots of problems as far as operation of the h610 after changing the miomap version. Nothing like the simplicity of changing just 3 files on my c320:( The maps are the same regardless of miomap versions, whether it be 3.2 or 3.3... right? I guess what I need to really find is just a way to crack what I already have and a license to use the maps. I'll keep looking around, but if anyone has any advice, I am all ears.

to get contacts to bring you into an Explorer view interface, you do not need to run the cab file of that instructional, but that does give you further interesting utilities.


I then used the folder structure for miomap folder from this info posted here at

to get TTS v3.3 running on my H610- After creating a CD I copied the miomap folder structure to an SD and renamed it miomaphack the copy what is on the flash to the SD less maps folder to have original copy if I had wanted to revert backwards and then copy the hack folder files and internal folders less maps folder from the cracked miomap folder from the SD to the Flash miomap folder and overwrite all.

I then got Premium maps 7/2007 files with 12million POIs and put them on the SD and then copied them into the maps folder and overwrote the existing there...

I then went to get a second TTS voice and still looking to get more.

I did need to modify the data.zip and add folder structure to have itinerary work, I explained that further in the other link.

I am using iGO2006+ and it imported my contacts list from my PDA.
1 - It said it imported 50 contacts but only show 20, Does anyone know WHY??
2 - Where is imported contact DB reside, I found igo.db but only contains my new POI entries. I want to update my contact list DB.
I am using IGP POI Explorer and can only update igo.db which ONLY contains my new POI entries.
Any ideas/infos are really helpful.

Hi all,

I've got HP IPAQ 614c Business Navigator and have installed the MioMap 3.3 from this link - [Only Registered Users Can See Links] Everything was fine, software detect the internal GPS receiver successfully, but when I click TIME SINCH button, the TIME Settings window appears, and the follow message is shown: GPS: <no gps signal> and the cell POSITION in screen GPS Data is empty.

Would appreciate if advise how to solve this problem.

You need to replace the license.db and the miomap.exe just changing one is no good. If that don't work, you might need to replace the miomap.exe.id as well.

Well, for experience sake it is worth trying. I wouldn't get rid of miomap though. try just installing igo8 on an SD card. To answer some of your questions. YES still a lot of bugs, especially for people using PNA's as opposed to PDA's. I say it is worth trying because it is good practice and will help if you ever try to add anything else in the future. If you are in the US, the benefits of igo8 are minimal, if any. Miomap works better and maps are better for miomap (I know hard to believe). Until their is a US release if Igo8, I doubt they will get any better until then. What is nice is that when you get it running, and you will, when there is a new release, updating it is that much easier and if you are in the US when a US release is available you will be that much more ahead of the game. Now, I promise you that even when you get it installed, you will find flaws immediately, however those are the current faults of the program and will hopefully be fixed in later releases. Besides, you can always delete it off an SD card if you don't like it, with no harm to your c520t at all.

igo 2006 and miomap are very similar and the maps are interchangeable between the two. Now with the new igo8, the maps for it are not compatible with miomap or igo2006. So if you are running miomap or igo2006, then make sure you get maps for them not for igo8.

Stefanos, if nobody here knows the answer, then you can always try downloading a cracked version of igo8. There was just a new release (June 24th) version posted. You might want to try it, especially since it is newer than you have on the SD card you purchased.

hi,

you can just use POIEdit that is free and sync POIs to a KML (Google Earth) type.
Then put them in CONTENT\USERDATA\POI with BMP and KML.
On first launch iGO will convert them to iGO POIs. And ther you go!

Since I replaced Igo2006 with Igo8 I started having big proplems with the GPS connection. The software starts, it connects to the satellite, but disconnects after about 30 seconds, reconnects and stays connected 30 seconds and so on disconnect and reconnects,disconects and reconnect. I'm Using an Asus P535 and I have already tried all versions of Igo8. I've also tried 4 different types of WM6.1 and 2 of WM6.0. Who can help me or at least have an ideea why is this happening?

there is a way to change this, but I can't remember the file you need to edit. There is a thread either here or in the ppcwarez forums on editing the TTS speech.

after all good looking installation of igo8 on device (Bluemedia BM-6280 ) on very start of starting application (it shows for half a sec screen with "initializing app" at the bottom of screen) app just crashes and i'm back to desktop...

device is clean, hard reseted, there is no former igo software on it. any ideas?

If you use PNA, you have to rename file application.dat to IGO8.exe :)

Go to my website in my signature and at the bottom you'll see some links to some forums for the c230. There you can find skins that will work on a c220, c250, and c230. Use one of those skin's data.zips and you'll be fine. I'll look for a direct link and post it in a minute.

You might have to look around and see wat other's have done with those resolutions. I think some people just edited the data.zip, which is probably what you'll have to do. I am not exactly sure. If you can't find any answers in this forum, try looking through some of the threads at gpspassion.com and see if you can find any information there.

You can run igo8 on any navigation device with a Windows CE core or with Windows Mobile. I'm not educated on the asus r300, but if it has a Windows core then you should be able to run igo8. The only thing you might have to do is modify the sys.txt of igo8 to meet your specific device. Try it first, you might not need to modify it at all, if you run into problems then be specific and we'll try to help with any mods that might need to be done. I personally recommend installing it on an SD card, this way if you mess it up you can always delete it and start over really easy without having anything done to your internal drive. Try it and report back. Also look at pcwarrez2.com and see if you can find any specifics on asus devices and igo8.

the latest ver is Jan 2008 and u can find it in the forum!
u d/l the upgrade tool from mio site and than connect to the internet for upgrade.
by doing so u "locked" your mio again.
do keep in mind that some "important" files are now inside your mio and i am not sure that u can "hack" it again.
the tool was not out for USA users as its problematic!

this is what happand as u use original upgrade!
now u will have to hack it all again!
look at the forum for answers.

Once you put it on an SD card, just replace the igo8.exe with the one in the fix and you'll be good to go.

It fixes the annoyance of igo8 wanting to do a full restart after a soft shutdown. I never do soft shutdowns while a navigation program is running, but some people do. The fix makes it possible. I think it is better to have it than not have it, for those just in case scenerios.

The targhet is planning a route on the PC, then export it to NAV.

I have downloaded more and more archive with 'IGO8 for PC' ....but i can't found a right license to see the maps (copied from NAV)

I'm new to the forum. I had this in the wrong thread at first!

I bought myself an Asus R700 unit with US maps pre-installed. Here comes the problem...I live in Germany and do a bit of travelling through Europe. I was hoping to be able to either just add more maps or install different navigation software (MioMap) for which I have a set of Europe maps. Anybody know how to go about installing different software (or just adding more maps to Igo8)?

What are problems with July 2nd Igo8 v44902?

I was asking because I have not had issues with it yet...some slower menu ins/outs, but not as bad as 2 versions ago I was using and had NY POI causing problem, then last one had PA POI causing failure/restart required, but then a fix to use older POI for the newer release fixed that, and is the most stable with everything 10/07 except the PA POI from the 07/07 set.

need help on this one pls as i recently migrated from miomap 3.3 to igo8.

now miomap 3.3 had 3 extremely useful views:
1) 3D cockpit view
2) 3D north-oriented view
3) 2D panoramic view (plane view smth like that)

Igo 8 has done away with the north-oriented 3D view as far as it seems, since we are left with 2 options only:

1) 3D cockpit view
2) 2D panoramic view

Is there a way to have the 3D N-oriented view back on the Igo8?

i have installed mio maps3.3 cracked on my Glofiish M700, it was working fine :D but when i changed they gps setting from auto to Sirf my mobile lost GPS signal :eek:.

now GPS hardware is not responding :( to any other software as well ( google maps, built in GPS viewer) showing that no GPS signal found.

Hi, newbie here, so hopefully posting this in the right place. Apologies if not.

Anyway, got Igo8 up and running with the latest uk map, 2008.04, but this doesn't seem to have the full search for 7 digit postcodes - only allows 4 digit searching. However from searching various boards it would appear that an earlier map for the UK (2008.01) does have the full 7 digit postcode search facility. Problem is I haven't been able to find a link to this map.

Does anyone have a working link, or a different UK map with the full 7 digit search on postcodes which works on Igo8.

hi, im new to gps underground, but ive been mucking around with the igo8 software (my satnav came with route66) and igo8 will not display correctly on the 7" screen, the res of the sat nav is 480x234 i think, but it will only display at 320x240.
then i went thru the sys.txt file, and i was about to change the res to 480x234 and now when i load the software, 3/5ths of the screen will be igo8 and 2/5ths of the screen will be the blue background of the satnav's menu system, but i can kinda see the igo8 program in the background, but i cant use any of the buttons (and then satnav's menu buttons dont work either)
i would like to know how can i fix it, so the igo8 software will work correctly on the satnav
fyi i have a 7" noname satnav from ebay, but i know the model number is gps-700.

I think it is impossible to install another program on nuvi unless you can change operating system

I have a Mio C310x that was working fine with the US maps and the initial Canada.fbl that worked by just being copied to the MAPS folder on the SD card.

Now i decided that I wanted to either update the map or sell the unit and get something new. Now that i uploaded the 3.2 version of MioMap and the corresponding CANADA map from the sticky the software reports the map as outdated and i am unable to browse it.

I wasted 2 days so far going through forums and was unable to resolve this, not to mention the unit is super slow to copy files even from the SD to the internal memory.

All i need now is the original Canada.FBL that initially worked but I managed to delete it by mistake. I want to revert the unit to the past functioning state and just sell it off and get a new one since I already have a buyer and figure this is really not worth the hassle.

If anyone has the file or any suggestions on how to get this back to operational it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you want to down grade to original state... un cracked? you cannot use a cracked map with the original licence and exe...you should be able to get what you need from the mio site though I believe or the original software CD/DVD that came with it.

I 've "unlocked" my mio C520T to read all europa cards (east and west) with miomap 3.3 only to replace 2 files "mioma.exe and miomap.exe.id".
It's OK and all is fonctionaly.

But now, i wish transform my C520T to read IGO 8 maps.
I've read this forum and nobody has already explained the complete procedure to transform my C520T intransitive with IGO 8.

When i only place map files coming from IGO 8 (ex : "Belgium8_2008.04_080526.fbl"), my PDA place a symbol in front of this map with the inscription R.I.P. !!!

How can i transform my PDA to read new maps coming from IGO 8 and how must i do to place IGO 8 in the pda ???
