Hi,
It sounds that they have been reloaded only at this time.
Because I use all these files since a couple of month with strictly the same sizes.
Is it possible that file sizes have not changed by one octet if they have been updated?
I do not believe it and I have already noticed this bug on our common source.
What is your feeling? Mine is that it has been confusion and old files have been reloaded in spite of the new ones.
In summary are they really new from august?

The link is not dead, it is bit torrent file, you will need bit torrent download softwares such as bitcomet or flashget to download it.
Anyway, if you want a direct download link, On Coarse navigator 8 works just like IGO8 and is actually has a better 3D graphics with newer north america maps of 2008.1. The link for it is still working: [Only Registered Users Can See Links]

FYI: Not to rain on your parade so to speak, but the problem with torrents is from everything I've read that they (The lawyers-Legal dept of whatever) can get you for distributing, if you have your client set-up to seed- and most places you get torrent links make you seed... It's one thing to download something- and another to distribute from a legal standpoint from the amount of trouble you can get in if they decide to go after you....

So.. get that torrent- upload it somewhere...

Instructions:

Delete all files from iGO8/Content/Speedcam and copy all the ".txt" files from this download to iGO8/Content/SpeedCam.

Soft reset your iGO8 software and activate the speedcam warning.

Real NooB question, but can't find a place to lose my question.

I've got an unbranden GPS system, and running now on iGO8 :) with
Netherlands8_2008.01_080215 and Belgium8_2008.01_080215 without any problem.

Now I've found the new links here : Netherlands8_2008.04_080526 and Belguim_2008.04_080526 but they won't be recognized by iGO, so I've got only the working Basemap ..

Anyona a suggestion? Because GooGle only refers to thiss site ..

I'm pleased to present you in this forum my iGO8 seasonal color scheme.

The seasonal schemes are intended for mediterranean regions (South Italy, Spain, Greece...) specially for summer period. You could try spring, autumn and winter as suitable also for other Countries...

To install
Copy the schemes in folder SD\iGO8\Content\Scheme

Select scheme in Settings menu\Map visual\Colour profiles in iGO8 navigator.

What's new in this version:

-Changed the tone-color of the sky and sea color schemes for autumn and winter (decreased blue intensity typical of spring and summer, increased the light-effect due to the haze over the sun low in these seasons). Adapted the brightness and contrast also related dayheightmaps. Greater prominence in the seasonal change from summer semester to winter semester.

-Minor changes on twilight scheme.

No content, you will have to add the poi's, buildings, dem & maps.

Like he stated on ppcw: You may use this software for evaluation purposes only. If you like it, it is strongly suggested you buy it to support the developers. By any means you may not use this software to make money or use it for commercial purpose.

No kidding, I bought it.

Notice: The maps will be backed up shortly. They don't work with the old iGO8.0.* , these maps dated 2008.07 work only with this v8.3.1.* release.


Hiding the Software update in a Resource titled thread? maybe best to wash out some of these old threads and or allow all to edit threads, but when edits are made need to know dates the edit occured :confused: Just some thoughts and Thank You for info...

I'm pleased to present you in this forum my iGO8 seasonal color scheme.

The seasonal schemes are intended for mediterranean regions (South Italy, Spain, Greece...) specially for summer period. You could try spring, autumn and winter as suitable also for other Countries...

To install
Copy the schemes in folder SD\iGO8\Content\Scheme

Select scheme in Settings menu\Map visual\Colour profiles in iGO8 navigator.

What's new in this version:

-Changed the tone-color of the sky and sea color schemes for autumn and winter (decreased blue intensity typical of spring and summer, increased the light-effect due to the haze over the sun low in these seasons). Adapted the brightness and contrast also related dayheightmaps. Greater prominence in the seasonal change from summer semester to winter semester.

-Minor changes on twilight scheme.

Anyone have the software(resource) of working TTS with igo8.3 and can provide the link to the TTS igo8.3 exe file required...The ru sites are not working for me, and PPCwarez is not always working for me to try and find there.

I am only interested in the exe file from the igo8 root folder that always the TTS to function. If it is more than that file please let me know.

Forgot to state it here, but the ru sites are not working for me, and ppcwarez not working again, but I found link last night and I got it working today...

That is the TTS igo8.exe file for the 8.3 sep25 release.
and the password is ppcwarez...If ppcwarez was up I'd link to it, but since it is not must link to the file location.

Newer version just needs a good Skin- what are you missing?

w8.3.... It states the name and number now for roads, but I am also getting some double talk and not sure why TTS lex files work in some cases but not others...

ex. Make next right on to R T 10 State Route 10

I also noticed the 8.3 maps have make left off a highway, when in the view it is actually a right into the jug handle that is required to make the left...Just need to know to look at actual road signs telling me how to make the left the GPS is telling me to make...(ex. Road sign will state Left and U-Turns from right lane...)

There are 2 "main" versions of IGO8:

8.0.0.x version require one set of maps ( TeleAtlas 2008.04 is the newest for USA/Canada and I think 2008.04 newest for Europe).

8.3.1.x version require Navteq maps (Q2 or newer) for USA and TeleAtlas 2008.07 (or newer) for Europe.

YOU CAN NOT USE MAPS FROM ONE VERSION TO ANOTHER, THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE !!!

Most likely you need IGO 8.0.0.x series for your maps, look for it.

Hello, I am new at this so I am not sure if there really is an issue or not so bare with me. I have installed the canada map with the latest Igo 8 that was posted onto my Mio 520, and it works like a charm, but I seem to have no POI searching abilities, is this due to me needing to copy poi's from the default mio software that comes with the unit.

I have tried searching these forums but there is a lot of data to take in.

I did not copy from original MIO, I thought I could but cant find anything pertaining to them. I think I understand a little more based off your comment that they are embeded in the maps themselves. I had downloaded the canada.rar only, I will try the ROOTEI download and see what it has.

I did not copy from original MIO, I thought I could but cant find anything pertaining to them. I think I understand a little more based off your comment that they are embeded in the maps themselves. I had downloaded the canada.rar only, I will try the ROOTEI download and see what it has.

I added the canada.poi from [Only Registered Users Can See Links] and I now have the ability to search all the poi's, thanks for the help. Now I just have to figure out why it keeps rebooting after trying to goto a selected destination.

Maybe you have the wrong data.zip. Usually that is one of the signs. Might try downloading another version, that or go to ppcwarez.org to the post with the date Nov 16 (I believe) version of Igo8 and download the data.zip a few posts back by Jetmouse.

Does anyone else notice that the POIs ( TeleAtlas 2007.10) seem to be missing gas stations from several states?

It is the case on my unit. I switched from the newer navteq ones with smaller sizes for the poi files to the teleatlas that had much bigger sizes but some states have no gas stations listed whatsoever, which makes me wonder if the TA are better.

Hi chums

First post so please be gentle. Drilled through the forum first for an answer but no luck. Trying to get IGO8 running on my custom car pc. So far have IGO8 working fine on my desktop for testing. Sadly only Romanian maps, language and voice. Have downloaded several UK maps in RAR format from Rapidshare, files are .FBL format which is the same as the Romanian map format so looks like they would work. However every time I try to unpack I get and error (unexpected end of archive. File is corrupt) have tried several files old and new with same result. Is this a feature of Rapidshare downlaods? :( Thanks for any help.

Try this:

[Only Registered Users Can See Links]

This version will accept 8.0.0 series of maps (pois, buildings, dem ,languages, voices also). There is no way to "patch" the maps from 8.3 series they use a different format (there is a partial patch but you will not have any search so is not usefull).

Don't try to use skins or schemes from PDA version they are not compatible. Don't try to play to much with settings, the program may crash .The PC version is not an official one it was just an alfa demo leaked out sometimes ago, so don't expect bug fixes and improvements.

Both versions use the same Navteq maps.

Please excuse my ignorance but I understood that the UK 2008.01 maps were from Tele Atlas and the 2008.07 maps were from Navteq. When I check my about screen (using 8.3.1.X software) it says United Kingdom 7PPC.fbl, 2008.07 Data Source 2008, Tele Atlas NV.
So I guess my direct question is are there any Navteq maps for the UK (with 7 digit postcodes) which work on 8.3.1.X?

I finished downloading the Europe TA dem files via Crytload and when I tried to extract them in Crytload, it gives me "unknown" error; I also tried to unrar them using winrar but it gives me "Invalid or corrupt authenticity information" error. Please help. Thanks.

With the Turkey map and Igo8.0 it works but without the house number selection.When you insert an adress it asks for the house number but there are no numbers to select the house number.Is there any solution for this.I cant use the 8.3.2 because it resets my device (xetec dtm-700) when I reach the destination.It works good in 8.0 with this map(without the reset issue but with the house number inserting problem)Thanks.

i installed the tts as per xtyler's instructions for miomap and it works fine.

i did notice that when i use igo instead of miomap the same tts does not work.
i assumed it was because i installed the tts files into the mio directories on the flash drive and not into anything related to the igo system.

perhaps naively, i installed a second set of the same files into the corresponding locations
on my sd card where the igo directories are. when i rebooted i did see "samantha" but
when i clicked on it she didnt announce " have a nice trip..."

ok, so can i use the mio tts files to run in igo8 or is it not compatible. if so where exactly
do i need to put the files. if not is there a way to get tts for streets to work in go.

THANK YOU for the link to the torrent for these Navtec 2008Q2 maps. However, even though I've loaded them into the CONTENT directory under MAPS, iGO is not finding them.

My iGO version originally had European maps which I deleted and replaced with the North American maps. When I go into the "about" section, and hit the globe icon, it shows "Basemap 2007.07, Data source NIMA VMAPO [080812]"

Then when I press the "key" icon, it shows 50 items of license information for the original European maps.

How do I get iGO 8.3.2.64873 to recognize the new USA/Canada maps?

I'm running this on an HTC Touch Pro (Windows Mobile 6.1 phone), branded as an AT&T Fuze.

Hi Dansidragos, Could you please explain what the difference is between the files noted above ? One file is 132MB en the other one is 207Mb.
I've got the same problem with the speedcam files. I can find some very new SCDB files, but all very small (about 800kb). The one I use now is 2,74MB large ...

they have it broken into 3 parts. when i unpacked them they were all the same size ( about 168,000 kb) and all had the same filename even though they were labellled as part 1, 2, 3. i wasnt sure what to do so i only installed the first file onto the sd card. i have searched the map and it appears that all the streets are there. if i really do need all three files, how do i install them correctly. if not why are they listed as 3 parts. i have seen the same thing for a few other countries.

any thoughts.

Usually, a zipprogram like 7-zip or PKzip or Izarc or ... unzips a broken file into one file. Are you sure that did't happen? And yes, in my oppinion, you need the whole file to work properly.

Just unpack part 1. Winrar will use part 2 automatically.

also my dynamic volume is also greyed out in the same manner!

You need to drive, warnings do not work in simulation (at least audio does not work).
