Download first the software, then unrar ,copy/paste to SD card.
download the maps, (the IsrH is Hebrew, the IsrE is english),
unrar, and copy/paste inside to destinator folder in SD card.
then, go to settings, from the gps/dvd, and select the destinator.exe

I do not have a clue how to do this but I pick up things very quickly, so if you could let me know or point me in the right direction I will b grateful.

Hi Smart2go7inch,

This should be fairly straight forward, as I have a similar setup, although not using it.... My car radio does GPS too if I buy the module for it. The module is no different than my hand held system ( a WinCE 4.2 device ). So I didnt buy it for the car.

Basically, these module GPS boxes for cars normally come with Smart2Go or Finean, as they are either free to very cheap in comparison to other SatNav softwares...

Anyway, Smart2Go doesnt have any setting to config, it does it all automatically....

So, if you can get to the software (normally on an SD Card) then in the maps folder (called city) look for a folder called Prefs inside Prefs, will be a couple of XML files (I think they are XML).

Basically, delete these, as the software will re-create them based on your hardware..... this will then detect the GPS module and port.... the only other thing that could be stopping it after this, is that the GPS receiver is not installed correctly or gets a good line of site...

Try those first I would.... ;)

** I am after the Smart2Go software, as all versions I have seen and used so far are BROKEN and dont work.... basically, none of them are based for UK... they tell you to go the wrong way around a round-about, which is dangerous... So if you could look for this SD Card (as in above) and package up either RAR or Zip and upload it to here, so I could have a look...

I dont need the maps, or voices, just the software... so if its too hard... all I need is... MobileNavigator.exe, Device.cfg and Rdat if you can let me know if you have these and what versions would be great.... THANKS!!!

No worries, have you found those files....?? Did deleting them fix your problem and you now have a GPS fix...??

This is how it works on other devices, and I am sure if you can get to those files, it will work the same with your GPS box. As said, I have a similar type radio, and although I didnt go for the GPS module box as I have my hand held device, from what I know... these boxes are just a WinCE device with SD Card Reader, so I would imagine you could run other software on this too.... ;) :D

Anyway, with regards to sending me those files.... have you used any of the following storage services, such as:

As these allow you to upload your own personal files, and share them with a Unique URL. This can be shared with all then, as I am sure there are some others that would like this software too... ;) I think you get about 100Mb, which if its just the 3x files I listed above, should be no more than about 20Mb I would of thought...

i bought the same product, Chinese DVD GPS RADIO BLUETOOTH AUX SD/USB and it did not come with GPS software for me. iv downloaded Route 66 and it works on the device, but there is no GPS signal. ( same prob as you )

can you tell me if you fixed the problem and help me with me issue as iv been trying for weeks.

Can anyone help please?

Poor radio reception is almost always due to the antenna amplifier not being supplied with the 12 volt which will be presented on the centre lead of the aerial cable. Factory fit unit have this. You need a separate antenne power supply to be fittted into the aerial lead. Costing about 5/10 Euros

TMC cannot just be added to a systeme by onnecting a radio. You require at least a dedicated TMC receiver or a radio that has separate TMS output.
Then of course the software and hardware of the navigation unit should be TMC capable

However, from what I see on the net the Xtron Equipment is only good for one thing The scrap heap.
Forget this cheap Chinese garbage

I cannot see link for unit, Most chinese units though generally can run without trouble either IGO8, Route66 or Destinator.
Best map coverage for Middle East though is likely only for Igo8.

I have purchased without GPS because they do not have Middle east Map.The unit is working good other than the GPS. I have down loaded Garmin from this forum artful wince6 it opens as trial but non of the key working. Tried with device id and card id. When save the sw.unl file there are some options ANSI, unicode. unicode big endian, UTF-8 which one to choose? Please replay.

I just bought a system off eBay that looks exactly the same as this one . . . but they say it's a "Sunshine 100" brand. It came with a demo of Finean software, which works well except for the "Evaluation Copy" text on everything. What's the best way to get it fully functional?

Are any of these cheapy things worth it? They are dirt cheap and have bluetooth. I would use the divx player mostly but a backup GPS would be cool.

I'm in The States if that matters.

99% of these are simply Chinese junk. Some work for minutes only, others for years. I know of examples that no one could get out of the Chinese setup menu.
None of them is a real navigation system, just a PND with a blown up screen mostly of extremely poor quality

I'm sure you are correct on this. However, for the thousands of us who have bought them we'd still like to get them to work, if possible.

I've downloaded Destinator 8 and maps (as mentioned in another thread) and can configure everything but still can't get it to see the GPS satellites. The Finean demo software that came with the HU had a configuration utility that set the port and baud properly, but I can't find anything similar in Destinator. I added a gpsmtc.ini with the correct parameters (port=3, baud=9600) but it seems to make no difference. I added the same info to the destinator.ini file but once again, nothing.

The program looks great. Has anyone else got this combination to work?

EDIT: I downloaded the first version of Destinator 8 from this thread [Only Registered Users Can See Links] , added the Canadian maps, and I am good to go!! The later version doesn't have a configuration section and I could not get it to locate the GPS satellite signal. So stick to the version in the first posts until they fix a later one.

I've just fix the problem on mine (same as yours), place your SD card on your PC and browse in it and open a folder named "UserData", open it and go to the file "GPSTMC" and double-click it. (if you don't have any folder named "UserData" just find the file "GPSTMC"):


The note pad will open then change the following:

GPS SETTINGS
Port = 2
BaudRate = 9600
Protocol = 2 (be sure that 2 corresponds to NMEA)

TMC SETTINGS
just change Port (2) & Baudrate(9600)

once you've changed the numbers mentioned above close the note pad, it will ask you if you want to save the changes click yes and info will be updated on the SD Card.

Now you are ready to have fun with the multimedia unit on your car, I took 2 weeks to figure this out (30 mins ago)...I'm happy!

Just wanna say thanks in advance for the help and comments. I just purchased the above said unit and had it installed by a friend who owns a car audio shop. Everything works great but we were not able to get the gps running. We did what was stated in the instructions but each time we tried to run the gps it says "no navigation software found!". The sd card that came with the unit has iGO8 on it, I was wondering if we had to install something from the card to the unit or if it's just plug in and go. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appresciated.

Hi, I had TD706G (Unit without steering wheel control), and I am not sure if you already did it, but you should go to NAVI setup, and when asked, choose a path to iGo application on SD card. After you check it, turn off the unit and turn it on again, and GPS should work either through main menu or pressing NAVI button!
Let me know if you experience any problems.

I just got an idea! sense my volvo has dvd navi wich is not suported In Latvia ( no maps)
I started searching whot is in dvd and if the maps can be changed from new systems.
found LoadingView.exe wich lets to see dvd`s loading ingridience. and came up with that it contains Win CE with all the goodies.
Question is it posible to somhow unlock like unlocking mio devices. by changing shell.exe to explorer.exe and reneme it to shell so system thiks its shell but actualy have a wince desktop. and then its mather of implanting any ce based navigation.

From what you write it is very hard to understand what you actually intend to do.
Anyway, there is not one Volvo factory fit navigation system that would be suitable to run Win CE

In my opinion first step is to discover how to read and edit original nav cd's and then we will see...

I had the same problem. Switch on unit. go to sat nav and use the "navigation set up" option.
With this option you will see a screen wih a PC folder icon in it. Touch the folder icon and it will open a new screen with two options, one is for the SD card for mp3 etc (the bottom one) the top one is for navigation; tap this option. A new screen will open giving the files in the sat nav sd card. scroll down until you come to "igo8.exe. Tap this option and the screen will go back to the first setup screen you saw. The box stating the igo8.exe should be there and a tick box to start automatically should also be there. If this is the case the press the mode button and go to radio or something, then get the menu up and press the sat nav icon, this should do the trick.

Hi all I am new here and new to all this GPS stuff.
I brought the xtrons TD706G 7" TOUCHSCREEN BLUETOOTH CAR DVD GPS IPOD PLAYER car unit for my partner back in october last year off ebay.
I would like to help him with installing new Australian maps and playing mp3's.
As I said I am very new to all this, so any help would be great, please make it easy for me to understand.
I would like for it to run smooth and have no issues.
I have read in some posts that this unit runs on a winCE OS. i am really not sure.
I have tried to put mp3's on a usb and plug into the unit but it has not worked.
Please help and thanks in advance!

Your post has been moved because your question has no relation whatsoever with Ford, the section where you first planted it
I don't think Ford wants to be associated with this brand of equipment

Consumer reports on this type of units are not very favourable and it is highly unlikely that you will make your partner very happy with it either. The problems you have encountered seem to be by design or the lack of it and at least of common occurence
This type of "equipment" excells in problems with hard and software and is considered "not worth the packaging it comes in" by a number of disappointed users

One solution to your problem may be to send it back to the sellers and ask for a refund, then purchase something decent

hello every one nice to find the forums i wonder if any body can help i have bought xrons TD716G gps unit with igo8 i have a problem i have done a reset put the sd card back in the unit booted it up for navagion pressed the second button on the panel and all i keeps getting is cant find software i keeps doing the reset take the sd card out and do the rest puts the sd card back in turns it on and im still getting the message cant find the soft ware can any body point me in the right direction please thanks to any body that can help me
