great Job!
First i did the update from version 2005 to version 2007, which i got from elsewhere in the web, than i did the update to version 2008, which i got from here.

Everything works fine, although i have MMI-version 1140. I'm already looking for an update of the MMI, but this is not as important, as the new NAVI-version.

The only disadvantage is the missing birdview, but this doesn't matter.

You should easily enable birdseye view. Go to your local AUDI dealer and run a software update. Beware, some stuff might now work properly after the update , or at least this is how BMW does it :)

If you do not put a name in the rapidshare file (like Audi DVD map) they will not delete the files! Just add something like "somethingaboutgps" LOL

Hi,
I've tried to load the 2008 disc on a car with the original 2007 disc map. I get error that disc is not readable. From .nrg image file I burned with Nero the disc but got the above error.
Any suggestion hot to fix it?

you need a dvd burner which can do it (e.g. pionier 112D) and you need to set booktype to DVD-ROM... ;)

thats the point, the firmware update is somehow differently defined (different sessions or so?!)...
Don't know why, but thats the point that differs a working or not working copy! the update works always!
It's recognized as an update-cd or even as a full DVD incl update...
I tried it with a NEC burner first -> didnt work (same prob as u)
then i read on some forums about using the Pioneer and ordered it, with this one it worked fine... (mind setting the right booktype)

Please help me i have upgrade the sw to 0600 and now the disk 2005 don't work,. When insert the original disk RNS-e 2005-1 says the sw is not compatible with the disk inserted. I need to downgrade the sw to vers. 0100. Someone know the procedure with vagcom?

I already downloaded those Teleatlas files (travelpilot DX), but they don't seem to be of the right format and the CD I burnt isn't working. I insist on the fact that my MMI has a smaller monochrom display (no maps appearing on the screen, just indications).

I have the original CD for France (under Siemens copyright) and it contains only a few files (6 I think) unlike the teleatlas/Blaupunkt CDs which contain lots of maps. I fear my system is quite rare .... :(

If you have any further idea, please let me know! :)

quick clarification, what's needed is the 2008-2009 Navteq DVD version 5A (or 4A, 2007). This is for the the RNS-E, not MMI. North America. It's one DVD.

Burnman you are right mate. My laptop keyboard sucks big time and often many parts of the text gets lost when I copy/paste.

Re-download the .rar file from the first post now, and continue your download by selecting only the missing rar files. The archive has 79! files, only check files from 74 to 79 to be downloaded in CryptLoad.

Oh and I really dont know if it has Estonian map as well I haven't tested it personally , I don't drive an Audi but maybe a user who have tested it can confirm it... ?

First this is a great forum

But i need help with this dvd's. I have audi a4 2005 with rns-e navi. I have downloaded and burned files to dvd+r dl but my navi writes insert the navigacion dvd. When I nserted it for the first time it updated to ver 0650 then it wonted the navigacion dvd. Are there 2 dvd's or what is wrong? I also downloaded 2 dvd's from the other link an still the same problem. But the original ver 2005/2 dvd still works fine.

AudiNavRNSE2008.md0 = DVD2

or

AudiNavRNSE2008.mdf + AudiNavRNSE2008.md0 = DVD1?

The Version.txt on dvd says:
COMMENT=High;
DISC=8P0919884AA;
MAP=AA_EUW; (indicates EU-WEST..)

I just have a short question. I downloaded Audi.Navigations-DVD-Rom.fuer.RNS-E.Version.2008.GERMAN-SHooTERS and burned it on a DVD+R DL with my mac. The software update worked like a charm but now it tells me to put in the navigation dvd.
Do I still have to change the booktype when I use this release of the software? No was no hint of how to burn it in the .nfo

Yes, you should change booktype.
I also have a mac, but booted to vista and burned with ImgBurn.
Could you tell, after successfull install if there's anything german about it?
I'm also downloading it, but would like a totally english install..
Heard that there's only 1 software, but don't get it why the name is GERMAN :/

I'm sorry...the install didn't work. It justed installed an update, but still says that I should insert the navigation dvd.
The install of the update was in German, although my car is German because I'm from Germany ;)

I did not change it...it looks like the image from that release does that by itself. I checked the booktype and it was set (after the burn process was completed) to DVD-ROM.

Hey guys I try to burn RNS-E with Alcohol on a DVD+R DL disc but it gives this error:

I also tried to convert the mdf and md0 files to iso under linux, and here is what mdf2iso says:

This means that the image does not contain anything more than a regular iso (= no security data/protection info from the original disc etc.). This could also be the reason for which some people in this thread report that the disc is not recognized by the Navi Plus except for the update data.

What do you think about this?

Anyone got the RNS-E successfully working on their car? Only negative results were posted. People should provide also positive results, not just run in happiness and forget about the efforts on this forum (which are NOT my efforts) :)

I'm looking for the Audi MMI Basic Plus Navigation CD Germany (preferably 2008). This is the CD (not DVD) for the monochrome MMI basic plus. I've been looking all over the net for the last two days but no success so far. No torrents, ed2ks or similar. I cannot even find the CD on ebay :( !! The article nr. is 4F0 060 884 AH.

Burned the maps on a DVD+R DL with ImgBurn (chose DVD-ROM from settings) on Vista.
After burn, DVDinfo says that the booktype is DVD-ROM.
RNS-E only updates firmware. Then says "insert navigation DVD".
What should I try next?

No one has ever succeeded or is likely to produce a working copie of the protected discs. The only thing is that it will update the software but after that the DVD cannot be read.

It works.........:)I recorded the DVD's with Alcohol120% and Verbatim 8,5GB DVD+R DL and with Pioneer 116D 1.09ver on 2,4x speed.

Everbody should buy Pioneer DVD...It is very good...:)
