All of us PNA/PND owners should contact GARMIN technical supports via e-mail or 1-800's (find it on the GARMIN website) and request to make the Mobile XT be compatible with WinCE 4.2 and WinCE 5.0 on the next upgrade version.
I contacted them recently and they said they would pass it to their engineering department. The funny thing is that they said there was not many people have contacted them for the WinCE requests, may be only one every month.
So PNA/PND owners, please contact them. If they received more requests, sooner or later they will listen to the customer demands.

jlapex (Floor 42) from another forum below almost successful to run Garmin mobile XT on WinCE device. He just needs one more correct coredll.dll to make it works. Can't wait to try Garmin XT on my Mio c310x.

Apparently, GMXT have been sucessfully ported to the WinCE platform. Unfortunately the person that did it decided not to release it. You can follow the story on:

At least now, we know it is possible to run GMXT on WinCE.

Can anyone guide me... I have try all means but my Garmin still won't show my Card ID... Can anyone help me!!!
I remember that long ago when I installed Garmin on a Laptop(Windows XP) I saw this warning:
NOTE: If you managed to start this software in Trial Mode, you won't see any "Device ID"
in your Settings -> About page.
You will find a kind of "Software Unit ID" instead and you CANNOT GENERATE an
unlock code for it!!!
If this is your case, close down GMPC, then go to
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Garmin\GarminMobilePC
and delete its content. Then proceed from Step 2. (reinstalling)
I don't know how to correct it on your device, but maybe you can start allover on a fresh
formatted SD card....
I am running Garmin just fine on a Mio C720 using software from this link:

Hope this will help you ....

Do you still have the device?
If you have, please can you help me by making a copy of the flash using the AutoRun_armv4.exe utility (link underneath) and send it on email or post it somewhere.

The procedure is like this:
You have to copy the file on the sd card using a computer with the exact name and exact location as the navigation executable after you have saved the original navigation executable on computer for restore. Then just start the gps and instead of starting the navigation exe the unit will run the utility and will make a backup of the flach memory on sd in a .bin file that will have the size of the flash (32MB) this file is very usefull if you ever mess up your unit. The sd card needs to have space for the 32MB file.
After this you just put back the original exe of the nav software using a computer.
I can help with installing IGo8 on this unit with updated maps.
Thank you very much in advance..
